Denton Smiles Dentistry
Dr. Olson grew up in the shadow of the rocky mountains in the great state of Utah. He attended Brigham Young University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology. Yes, zoology. He thought he wanted to be the next David Attenborough, but realized that dentistry was his true calling. After completing his zoology degree, Dr. Olson and his family moved to North Texas where he worked and attended Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Olson spent his first few years as a dentist working in a clinic that focused on meeting the needs of underserved children. It was during that time Dr. Olson began his education in biologic dentistry.
One of his own children born premature and weighing less than two pounds – was struggling to thrive until treatment was sought using integrative medicine. Seeing the results of an integrative approach to health in his own family and attending training and workshops dealing with whole body health and the way the teeth are tightly linked to the body meridians changed the way Dr. Olson approaches dentistry.
Dr. Olson and his staff focus on rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral cavity where it can be free of factors that may compromise overall health. Dr. Olson is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology which focuses on biologic dentistry. He is SMART certified and has completed certifications in oxygen/ozone therapy.
