Dr. Chia Wu has always been passionate about the biological sciences, which led her to pursue a BS in physiology and neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego, in the beautiful town of La Jolla. That’s where her interest in dentistry began, as well, inspiring her to earn a Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Temple University School of Dentistry. She then completed a general practice residency at New York Hospital, Queens, where she gained experience in treating dental disease in patients with complex medical conditions.
Dr. Wu’s explorations of the mouth/body connection led her to the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology (IAOMT). She became certified in their Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) and has continued her training with them, as well as through the International Academy of Biological Dentistry & Medicine (IABDM). She is a Diplomate of the American Breathing & Sleep Academy and is certified in dental ozone therapy through KT Dental Seminars.
“I enjoy helping patients who seek to improve their overall health by addressing their oral health,” says Dr. Wu. “It’s incredibly rewarding to guide them in understanding the connection between their systemic health and oral health. I especially appreciate working with proactive patients, as biological dentistry offers many options to support long-term wellness.”
Dr. Wu is most passionate about airway expansion and sleep appliance therapy, clear aligner therapy, TMJ appliance therapy and restorative dentistry. When not helping patients, she enjoys walking outdoors, cooking, and travel, and loves spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
