Course Description:
This course explains how full spectrum infrared supports measurable improvements in clinical dentistry. You learn how infrared wavelengths interact with oral tissues, circulation, inflammation, and cellular energy, and how these effects influence healing, pain response, and patient comfort. The course connects basic photobiology to chairside outcomes, including tissue recovery, periodontal response, post procedure support, and overall treatment efficiency. You also review practical applications, safety considerations, and clinical scenarios showing how infrared integration fits into modern dental workflows. The focus stays on translating science into decisions you make in daily practice to support predictable, patient centered outcomes.
- A scientific framework for understanding red and near-infrared (NIR) light at the cellular and systemic levels.
- Clinical connections to patient healing, inflammation modulation, and recovery relevant to dental practice.
- A practical adoption model for integrating light-based therapies as adjunctive biologically supportive tools.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain the biological significance of appropriate light exposure on human health and nervous system function.
- Describe the mechanisms by which red light and near-infrared light therapy support cellular healing and tissue repair.
- Identify practical biohacking tools — including breathwork, grounding, and red light therapy — that support nervous system regulation.
- Recognize the potential applications of red light therapy in the biological dental practice setting.
- Discuss the role of light-based therapies in supporting detoxification and patient recovery following dental procedures.
